Adding a Node to a SignalTap II File



To add a node to a SignalTap® II File (.stp)Read This First

  1. If you have not already done so, perform an analysis and synthesis, an analysis and elaboration, or a compilation on the design.

  2. If necessary, open an STP File or create a new STP File.

  3. In the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer window, click the Setup tab.

  4. To use the Node Finder to find SignalTap II nodes, choose Utility Windows > Node Finder (View menu). Shortcut

  5. In the Node Finder, select SignalTap II: pre-synthesis or SignalTap II: post-fitting in the Filter list.

  6. If you wish to further limit the search results, specify one or more of the following options:

    1. In the Named box, enter a node name, partial node name, and/or wildcard character(s).

    2. Type the search hierarchy path in the Look in box, or browse for the search hierarchy level:  More Details

    3. To include the subentities of the hierarchy you entered, turn on Include Subentities in the Node Finder.

  7. To start the node name search, click Start.

  8. In the Nodes Found list of the Node Finder, select the node or bus you want to add to the STP File, then drag it to the SignalTap II window.
