A group of Altera^® programmable logic devices with the same fundamental architecture. Altera's families include the ACEX^® 1K, APEX^™ 20K, APEX^™ II, ARM^®-based Excalibur^™, Cyclone^™, FLEX^® 6000, FLEX 10KE, MAX^® 3000, MAX 7000, Mercury^™, Stratix^™, and Stratix^™ GX device families.

Altera also offers a serial configuration device family that includes devices used to configure the devices in ACEX 1K, APEX 20K, APEX II, ARM-based Excalibur, Cyclone, FLEX 6000, FLEX 10KE, Mercury, Stratix, and Stratix GX device families.
